Since last week, we are waiting for Monday, Wednesday and Friday to witness Fahry’s weight. For full term babies, it is counted in monthly basis (or maybe twice a month during the first months of life) but for babies like Fahry, every other day is crucial. Every gram is putting into account.
Today is Monday, so the first thing to look for in his daily report is his weight. Last Friday, he was recorded to be 1.45kg. How about today? *pray..pray..* Tara… It’s 1.5kg! 50g in 3 days.. OK la.. 16.7g per day in average. So I update our personal record:
- Birth – Friday = 1.19kg
- Week I – Wednesday= 1.23kg
- Week II – Wednesday = 1.26kg
- Week III – Monday = 1.33kg
- Week III – Wednesday = 1.38kg
- Week III – Friday = 1.45kg
- Week IV – Monday = 1.50kg
Alhamdulillah, his weight gain is good. According to the nurse, another 100gram to go to get out of the incubator! And 300gram to go to get home. But unfortunately Fahry couldn’t come home even after he reaches 1.8kg. Have to wait for the operation. Well, it does not matter when, as long as he’s coming home safe, healthy and sound. He’s now taking 32ml of Mommy’s milk still with the tube attached to his little mouth.
The nurse said that Fahry is a good baby. He seldom cries even though when his dressing is being changed. The Paed and other doctors also spend a little time at his incubator because ‘he is healthy and stabil’. Alhamdulillah, may Allah protects him and hang on there.
I got chance to cradle him, when the nurse wanted to change his sheet, she asked me to hold Fahry for a while. What a feeling.. but he was too small to be felt! I even stayed put there and I couldn’t even move my hands because I was too nervous.
We are looking forwad the time Fahry is transferred from incubator into the baby cot next door. And the time he is brought into the Operation Theater. And definitely the time he’s coming home!
We had many visitors this week. Today we had a group from Bintulu and not forgetting Lutong Baru 😀 E-in, Zifa, Hafsah, Kak Hanim, huby&kids (her elder one speaks English so fluent like she comes from the West. According to Kak Hanim, her daughter learned to speak English from cartoon!), Kak Laila&kids (Iman & Iqbal yang sangat chubby!), Ira&huby and another kakak with her husband & their 2 girls (oh i dont know her name. my bad..). Plus the gentlemen.. all are ex-UTPians. Not forgetting Kapez, Kak Mar & Mu’izzuddin.

Approaching year end (it’s the year end now, but I’m talking about the company’s financial year end), sometimes it makes me feel restless thinking about my year end performance. I have many big jobs in my KPI, which are supposed to start in November up to February, but since mid November I was admitted in the hospital and on Sick Leave for 2 weeks… And now I am on maternity leave and going to take unpaid leave to take care of my Fahry.. So plus minus I’ll be away from office for more than 6 months. And I have no back-up colleague. Ira just joined the organisation for a month and I have no time to train her. Gosh! My assignments… My projects… My works… My performance…!!! Oh I’m thinking about going to the office now! Somehow I love my job (or money???) and afraid of losing it!!! download contact
😀 I can’t take it for granted since the company is launching a new scheme of eliminating under-performed staff… Ngeee~~~ Scary OK. I have no way to be outperform this year end…
Ah, it doesn’t matter. afterall family is more important. Can’t wait to bring Fahry home!
