I’d received quite overwhelming respond recently asking how to get started in stock market investment; especially when I’d triggered how easy it is to get higher return than ASB or Tabung Haji from stock investment.

Just like any new subject you want to learn, you need to know what you don’t know for stock investing. Only then you can be clear what you should know to make money from stock market (the halal way).

In effort to help you reduce your time required to learn this subject, I’ll list some of the related topics you should start looking for if you’ve keen interest investing in stock market:

  1. Why stock market exist?
  2. Why company owners willing to share their profits with you?
  3. Why share prices keep on moving every second?
  4. What may affect the share price to move?
  5. What are your entitlements after buying the share?
  6. What are the different of fundamental & technical analysis? How to maximise profits from either/both of them in short, medium or long term?
  7. How to evaluate stock using fundamental analysis?
  8. How buy stock from technical analysis?
  9. What is key financial ratios and why they are so important?
  10. How to know which investing strategy fit your investing personality, goal & most importantly your habit?
  11. How to buy share from IPO or secondary market?
  12. Which one is better, buying shares online or from your remiser?
  13. Why company pay dividend? Why don’t they just keep the money for themselves?
  14. How to know how much dividend they should or should not give you?
  15. What is liquidity and why it’s important for stock traders?
  16. When you should buy or sell the stocks?
  17. Understand what are blue chips, second-tier or speculative stocks and its common behaviour.
  18. What are the advantages and disadvantages of stock market compared to other investment options; properties, unit trust, ASB, Tabung Haji etc.?
  19. What it takes to be successful stock investor?
  20. Why novice investors usually lose money and then say stock market is just a gamble (and haram)?

If you know the answer to any of these or if you think there are more than this that you need to know before you can start investing, pls share with the rest in the comment below.

Else, start looking for books that can give you all these answers or at least google them in Google or Yahoo!

This is not the place. This is actually for long term investment. La ni tak main saham dah.. pasai tak mampu.. kehkehkeh!

in my opinion, main saham ni is only when u really have extra money. since i’m working in this industry, the best time to buy is when the market is bear, so that when it peaks up u will have more gain.
Fundamental analysis is when take into consideration qualitative factor such as economic condition, rumors or interest rates.
while technical analysis is when u tend to look just at the pattern of the prices.
hope this helps
