We’d decide to change our flooring for all bedrooms and the family hall on the first floor from the Fahry-jigsaw-puzzle parquet to laminated floor. Scouting around and we made to Ikea flooring department as our first station. It doesn’t has many choice of floor, and for God’s sake masa kitorang pergi it was nobody in the section, so we just left. The pricing quite OK, from RM5.90/sqft and 5% charged for installation.
We went to Houz Depot near Pelangi Damansara then. They have a wide rage of wooden floor, from simple laminated to solid timber. I thought I never to to the solid ones, more pricey and no warranty 😛 The pricing is more of less Ikea for laminated one, with installation fee for RM 1.40/sqft.
But, the choice of the pattern was not very wide. It has the same pattern but different colors for almost all the laminated floor.
So we tried Floor Depot at The Curve. It’s the largest Floor Depot’s showroom (they have one in Sunway Pyramid and some other where I couldn’t recall). Floor Depot has all we need. It provides different patterns for each flooring, for RM8/sqft with discount voucher. We wanted to do it for our stairs and it costs RM150/step.
The sale assistant was very friendly and very good in giving tips 😉 not forgetting the oranges and mineral water for my kids LOL
So we decided for Floor Depot. Furthermore, they have their own installation crew, instead of outsourcing to the third party. So we could expect accountability there.
A troop of crews came to install the flooring, about 7 of them. We expected 3 days to complete installation but they were very optimist to complete it in a day. Almost 🙂 only several steps of the stairs they couldn’t manage to finish for it was so complicated to do especially at the bottom of the handrails.
I bought a new micro fibre mop as recommended, because the laminated floor would damage if has contact with water, and it works very excellently! (I never used this kind of mop before :P)
