It happened last nite, on our journey back home from hospital. It was rainy then, in fact it was just after the cats and dogs one. As usual, Abiy and I took the time to chat, things that we can’t usually do at home. This is normal for some couples, at home, the time is dedicated to the kids rather than our own interest as couples.
Kelantanese say, “nok geroh”, both of us didn’t see the signage (was it any signboard? hmm.. hmm..) and we were speeding (the road was clear then). At the end of the road, it was a T junction, to the left is Pujut and to the right is the airport. We should turn left but it was too late. Abiy tried to overcome the situation but it was too fast, plus the road was slippery due to the rain. Finally both of us, with the car, were stranded in the big drain bank.
We were lucky cos that time a tow truck passed by. Abiy asked the truck driver to tow our car.
Alhamdulillah, no major damage, and no injury. The car had its front bumper detached and I only had my head ache after stumbling upon the dashboard.
It pays me right in the other way.
And taught us some lessons cos we usually follow the road safety rules to avoid from being summoned (don’t tell me you don’t do this…). Now we’re really understand the value of safety and life (despite the value of summon, haha).

So…
- Wear seatbelts.
- Put your babies and toddlers in their carseats, never put them on your lap especially when you’re sitting at the front seat.
- Go slow during rainy day and when the road is slippery.
- Focus on driving.
- etc. AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING…
- Don’t forget to recite “doa naik kenderaan”.
By the way, what is happening in our life is nothing more than a lesson to be learnt. (But obviosly not everybody takes it as a lesson). Whatever it is called, -lesson, test, experience, nightmare, etc- there’s nothing to blame when any unexpected thing happens. It’s a lesson, remember. What most important is, we’re still alive, and the lesson we had must be something valuable for our undertaking future. But, it’s still nothing if we don’t learn anything from it.
God’s lesson is not always come in easy packages.
If we asked for sabr, He usually doesn’t simply gives us a heart with that value, but some circumstances that would train our heart to be patient. If we asked for a happier life, He sometimes doesn’t gives us a party-like life, but some misery so that we would value our life and able to be happy with what we have. If you face too many unexpected, unhappy things in your life, re-check what did you ask from Him 🙂
