Pengalaman Beraya di Perantauan

Raya tahun ini, 1435 (2014) merupakan satu sejarah bagi kami sekeluarga. Berpeluang merasa bagaimana menyambut hari raya di perantauan. Adik ipar saya menamatkan pengajian dan bergraduasi menjelang raya, jadi kami bersama mak mentua memutuskan untuk menyambut raya di sini, Cardiff, United Kingdom.

Maklumlah, kami suami isteri gilir-gilir balik kampung, dan tahun ni giliran mentua.

Kami baru bergerak ke Cardiff menyambut raya dari Bristol (kira-kira sejam perjalanan) pada pagi hari raya. Dek kerana tak pasti bila tarikh hari raya. Samada 28 Julai atau 29 Julai… So kami tunggu sampai confirm dulu. Kalau belum raya lagi, kami cadang nak ke Bath.

Puasa di UK.. musim panas…dari jam 2 pagi hingga 9 malam berbuka puasa.. kira-kira 19 jam. Alhamdulillah, tidaklah terasa sangat sebenarnya… Lagipun kalau tak puasa kami tak ada nak makan sangat pun. Sahur minum Performance Drink, insya-Allah dengan izin Dia seharian pun rasa cergas ajelah.

Di UK kami memandu, rasa nak road trip pula.

Di samping beraya, ambil kesempatan juga nak jalan-jalan… Sempatlah ke Oxford, Stratford (tempat Shakespeares), Birmingham, Bath, Sansbury (Stonehenge), Bristol, selain Cardiff.

Raya di Cardiff, selepas bersiap-siap kami ke satu dewan di Riverside untuk solat sunat hari raya bersama-sama dengan orang Malaysia di Cardiff. Seronok jumpa orang ‘kampung’ sendiri kan.


Selepas solat sunat hariraya, ada jamuan di tempat tu, merasalah jugak rendang, ketupat semua tu. Alhamdulillah, ingatkan jamu mata je dengan gambar-gambar yang kawan-kawan di tanahair upload, dapat juga merasa…

Lain nikmatnya bila kita teringin sangat dan ianya limited edition. Hehe. Kalau di tanahair tu sampai dah tak lalu tengok makanan banyak sangat.


Syukur sangat lepas beberapa hari tak jumpa nasi, dapat makan makanan Malaysia. Bihun goreng terbaik!

Selepas siap makan-makan (hujan pun turun rintik-rintik) kami balik ke rumah, dan keluar semua ke City Hall untuk bergambar kenangan. Biasanya memang sini spot bergambar untuk apa-apa acara perayaan pun.

Anak-anak seronoklah jumpa padang, berlari sana sini.


Hari raya di Cardiff penuh dengan rumah terbuka, terutama student yang dah di tahun terakhir di sini.. lepas ni dah nak balik Malaysia. Jadi masa ni lah nak berkumpul dengan kawan-kawan.

Kawan-kawan bertanya, best ke raya di perantauan. Hmmm.. mestilah raya di kampung halaman lebih nikmat. Kami pun beraya ala backpackers.. lepas raya terus terbang.

Apa-apa pun, erti perayaan AidilFitri itu yang penting. Balik semula kepada fitrah kita, semoga lebih faham tentang ad-deen.

    Kampung halaman tetap terbaik untuk merayakan Aidilfitri. Tapi sekali sekala tukar angin beraya di tempat orang pun tak apa. Asalkan ada bersama keluarga. 🙂

    Jadi anak rantau untuk 3-4 tahun tu okelah, kalau banyak sangat tahun, syahdu gak. Tapi raya memang tetap feeling.
