*this picture was taken last week, he was still in incubator
A day before Fahry reaches 1 month old, he was transferred from the incubator into the babycot. We were there at 2pm, initially wanted to feed him by myself for 3pm feeding. But since he was in the cot, he wasn’t longer using tube to take his milk. Now my baby can swallow by himself!
The doctor came and told me that the operation will only be done after Fahry hits 2kg of his weight.
Nurse taught me how to feed him using cup. Then I asked her "Is it possible if I breastfeed him?". She said "Okay! You can try. He should be OK".
Another nurse assisted me to position Fahry while I was on cradle hold position. He was too small and ‘weighless’ huhu. He had difficulty to latch on at first, because this is his first time and and this while he never knew how to suck or even swallow. The nurse made him opened his little mouth, oh it was like heaven when he started to latch… and started to suck.
He did it like a professional! (How great the hidayah given by Allah SWT, every lil’ baby knows how to latch on his mother’s nipples)
The doctor came to observe him "Wow, he’s doing it great!" she said.
He was such a strong milk sucker. I could feel the suction, I thought it was even stronger than Hafiy. I couldn’t feel Hafiy’s suction when he was a little baby. When he was done, than that’s it. But I can feel Fahry’s very well. Oho… despite his little body, he’s such a strong guy.
We ended the session when Fahry was no longer suckle and he spit out some milk. I kissed him for the second time and hold him on my chest while patting his back gently to make him burp.
It was a like a deja vu. (aha, it is NOT a deja vu lah, I’ve been nursing Hafiy for 15 months!)

Overall he’s doing OK. He got compliment from the ward’s staffs for gaining weigh very well, and they even called him ‘SI BULAT’. 🙂
Looking at his picture… yes he opens his eyes. In fact, he opens his eyes immediately after I gave birth to him. He is physically well but we were advised not to treat him like a full term baby for his whole system is immature.
Hafiy made my specs, the washing machine’s tap and the stand fan broke down.
At the same time, he shows his interest in animals, fish, bird, cat… and also baby! He looked at Baby Fahry’s picture and said "Baby… baby…". And he likes to wear my tudung, altogether with serkup. LOL.
I AM still trying to spend more time with him. We spend most of the time together singing the nursery rhymes while pointing at the object in the song (he insists me to do this), singing his favourite youtube video by SmartHands and watching Dibo Ding Dibo Ding Bo Ding at Playhouse Disney. Every morning and evening, I let him go outdoor to see birds, cats and dogs.
Half of my day spent with milk pumping, resting and going to the hospital.
At this age, Hafiy has full energy to climb, jump, hang, etc. We just let him and see the consequent evens, unless for dangerous and risky things we prohibit him at the beginning. As a new toddler, he starts to understand while eager to explore everything.
Now he knows when to stop doing something. When I yell his name "HAFIY!", he knows it’s the alarm to stop.
Every child is sent as a miracle.
