Who’s behind this fabulous handmade masterpiece?
Let’s have a chat with this wonderful lady, who knows somebody will inspired to follow her footsteps?
MSK : How long have u been in this business?
SB : SNUGGbaby is launched in September 08, the e-boutique started off pretty slow but once we have our first order, it really starts to pick up all thanks to our customers feedback. To date we have been on business close to 2 years and hoping for more brilliant years to come insyaallah
MSK : What is your starting point?
SB : I have always want to make affordable yet exceptionally beautiful and snuggly comfy baby carriers for our local market because the ones we have that time were mostly imported and very very expensive. Because I didn’t have much capital.. I had only a couple of hundred RM to start off so I started really small by making small but useful items first i.e. the SNUGG Diaper Clutch. Then when the business picked up then I started making what I have always wanted to make and sell.. baby carriers ;)
MSK : How do you balance your daily life/family/work/hobby beside this business?
SB : Balance? There’s never any balance haha It’s more of juggling. On different days different aspects of life requires more attention then the other. The best way to deal with it is to prioritise accordingly and always fill up your time with something useful especially spending time with the family. It’s good to have a routine though, to plan ahead but you can never rely so much on it because it will only make you frustrated when things don’t go as u have planned. You must always keep an open mind and accept changes as they come.
MSK : What motivate you to keep on going?
SB : In my business of making custom baby carriers, when I have finished one and put it on the mannequin for product shoot, that’s like a drug especially true when I’ve finished sewing a special edition. Getting feedbacks from my customers keeps me going like redbull. Sometimes when I feel down, like all that hard work is too much work, my other commitments are draining my energy and that it’s not worth the trouble, even when it’s a short message like ‘Love it!’ from my customer, it sorta ignites a spark within me. Imagine being able to see photos of them adorning something that I have sewn from scratch with a big smile on their faces plus the remarks on how the carrier is really useful to them, it’s simply exhilirating. Enough to ‘power up’ my limbs to sew at least the next 5 carriers.
MSK : What is you advise to others who what to start a business?
SB : Believe in rezeki and you’ll never be disappointed. There are ups and downs in business I’m sure everyone knows that but having strong faith will prevent you from being too full of yourself when you’re up and being too stressed out when you’re down.
And last but not least….
