We went to Prince Court Medical Centre (PCMC) last week to register Fahry as a premature (prem) and amniotic band syndrome (ABS) baby, for his follow up. We were walked in as I had no time to call for an appointment nor choosing the paed (even if we had some names in mind).
It was only Dr. Padma on duty, so we were referred to her.
She’s an adorable Indian lady and friendly too. And she was excited knowing that Fahry is an ABS baby. Siap dia suruh Mommy buat record keeping about Fahry’s progress. So I decided to use this blog for that purpose 🙂
It was a good news. Selama ni nobody (I mean, the doctors at MYY) appreciate his condition. Ni even Dr. Padma took pictures of Fahry, including his hands and foot. And she said she wants to do it in our every visit. 😀 She even googled some stories about ABS and asked us to read about it LOL.
She interviewed me about Fahry, since what is written in his discharge report was inadequate i.e., it’s not mentioning whether he ad gone through internal organs scanning, etc. So she needs to make other tests on Fahry, i.e. heart, lungs, kidneys, etc. And one nice thing was, she said “Are you sure he was born at 28 weeks? He is big” 😀 Fahry is 5.3++kg, considered big kot according to his corrected age (Corrected age= 2 month, true age= 4.5 month).
And from pre-review, she found out that Fahry’s heart makes murmur sound. Immediately, immediately, she arrange for an appointment with Cardiac Paed at Gleneagles Intan, Dr. Lim Miin Kang. So we got the appointment at 4pm. She also arranged for other appointments, i.e. kidney, brain and Ortho. For ortho, Fahry would be referred to Damansara Specialist as the Ortho Paed is residing there.
We felt so lucky, for coming here. Finally Fahry got what he deserves. It was just done right there. Tak payah tunggu lagi sebulan dua (like what we had before).
Fahry also had his Prevenar (Pneumococcal) and DTP jabs.
Total up, PCMC costs us RM700++! Plus Hafiy’s rashes treatment, almost RM1k.

PCMC Children Clinic has a play room, which Hafiy spent most of his time. And also a breastfeeding room, where we visit it regularly.
PCMC also conducts ParentCraft class, for parents-to-be.
After everything was paid and done, we went to KLCC, Abiy went to the bank and we went to Toy’sR’Us. After having our lunch and Zuhur, we rushed to Gleneagles Intan for Fahry’s heart examination.
The specialist clinic located in front of the main building, and we took an elevator to go to Dr. Kang’s clinic at Level 1.
It was such a child and baby friendly clinic. Lots of toys and a quite room for babies and breastfeeding purpose. Gleneagles also has Breastfeeding Course for FREE!
After about 30minutes waiting, Fahry’s name was called, and an ECG test was done on him. Susah sikit nak buat sebab Fahry gerak-gerak. But overall he was such a nice and good baby, he didn’t cry and ‘talk’ with the nurses and doctors.
After the ECG, Dr Kang done ultrasound test on Fahry’s heart. It put us on tenterhook because we were very afraid of accepting any bad result. Alhamdulillah everything was normal.
Dr. Kang is such a very friendly and transparent doctor. He even showed us anything he wrote in the report, and show us what is happening in Fahry’s heart. His condition was called innocent heart murmur which is very common in children, especially small babies like him.
And the bill was..
-
Consultation – RM 100
-
Echo Scan – RM 280
-
ECG – RM 50
-
Total = RM 430.

The total bill for Fahry alone was more than RM1k for a day visit! Thanks to the company 😀 Mujo la mak keje, kalo tak mau terbatuk-batuk nak membayornya.
I feel so happy for Fahry, finally he gets what he suppose to. We have many choices of hospitals in KL, with advance technology. Compared to only ONE hospital in MYY, now we can demand for the best treatment and the best Paed for him la kan. Alhamdulillah. Like what Abiy said “Everything is just scheduled”.
**I’m writing this not to show off that we mampu go to such that expensive private hospitals (memang mampu pon dah orang sponsor kan), but to share what cost us in those hospitals, if anyone is searching for information about cost of doing those treatment at those hospitals. Uh, despite the high cost, I am very satisfy with their transparency. I don’t understand why the previous hospital has lots of thing to ‘hide’ from my knowledge. Or is it the policy?
