It was unbelievable when we decided to bring our 14 month Danny along in our Europe backpacking tour. The main reason was because my baby is breastfed. It’s either bring the pump or the baby.
The itenary was amazingly packed, since we were backpacking to 7 countries and at least 14 cities in 2 weeks time.
To be honest it was my first time backpacking, so did my husband. However we planned everything by ourselves and thank to my husband for the various of travel experiences.
We made our move on the 18th, our flight from KLIA to Paris was near midnight. We brought only a backpack, for sure inclusive of baby’s stuffs. It was great because we didn’t have to pack for Danny’s milk.
Our 65L Osprey backpack and a day bag we took onboard. I couldn’t believe we can do this. In our previous umrah, even for the two of us, it took us 2 big bags T____T
Thanks to the compession packs anyway 😉
Our flight to Paris took 13 hours with MAS. We arrived at Paris CDG Airport at 6.20 in the morning. Caught a train to St. Michael near our hotel.
It was us with our backpack, and my ‘backpack’. I chose to babywear for its flexibility. It was great and makes me fall in love with babywearing over and over again ^___^
After spending 3 days in Paris, we flew to Rome by EasyJet. Again, our hotel just steps away from Tiburtina Metro Station. After 3 days in Rome, we flew to Geneva, again by Easy Jet.
Our adventure in Switzerland began, from Geneva to Lusanne, to Montreux, to Luzern, to Zermatt and finally Zurich and Bern.
Then we continued to Amsterdam by overnight train. After 2 days in Amsterdam, we took an overnight cruise to Newcastle, UK. Train brought us to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Cardiff and our final destination London.
We finally flew back home from London Heathrow.
I couldn’t actually believe that we did it! My first time backpacking, and with my baby, a colorful experience. I wasn’t easy because Danny started to get cheeky at 14 month old. He cried all the way and made messes.
But thanks to breastfeeding and babywearing, it’s not hard to tame him. Just had to put extra patience…
I will share our Europe backpacking with baby, the experiences, tips, tricks and how we put everything together in one backpack!
Stay tune and let me take your to Europe 😉
