My 4 Month Old Baby Development

I gave birth to him on 5 December 2008, making him a 4 month old baby. But since he was delivered prematurely, we count his development base on his EDD, which supposed to be on 27 February 2009. This called ‘corrected age’, and his corrected age is 1 month and 3 weeks old, more or less 2 months la.

Fahry is really a 2 month old ager, development wise. For immunisation and so on, it still follows his true birthday.

He just started to coo early last week. Now he ‘talks’ a lot, especially when I put him on sitting position. He follows objects passing over his face, especially my cameraphone (this indicate his eyesight is really OK, alhamdulillah. hopefully he doesn’t has to wear glasses at young age). He’s yet to roll but he can move his body from one location to another. He’s so demanding as well. Demands to be carried in any position he likes, and demands to be carried by Abiy alone. I don’t know why this boy really addicted to Abiy. He cries out loud, but when I hand him to Abiy, he would stop, immediately. Immediately.

Fahry can’t stand coldness. He doesn’t like to go out to shopping complex (The paed tak bagi summore, for the sake of his pneumonia). He’ll cry so loud after Maghrib and only stops after I swaddle and wrap him with thick clothes. Camna nak pi OZ (Australia) ni :P

Now Fahry tak bangun malam sangat. He sleeps at 8pm, bangun sekejap2 and after 12 dah tak bangun-bangun until 7 o’clock in the morning. Because he’s exclusively breastfed (minus the supplement he has to take), so I just follow his demand, cos he’ll refuse if I offer without him asking for it.

On his foot, everything is OK now, but if his bone lengthen more than his ‘flesh’ growth, he maybe need to undergo operation. His paed here said, they might give him ‘kaki palsu’ as soon as possible to help him crawl and mobile. Ya kot cos he looks very unstable, especially when I try to help him to turn his body.

We’re gonna continue his treatment and therapy at PCMC. Ahaks. We really want to bring him to government hospital for we believe they have better specialist, but comfort wise, we choose private lah. Give way to others who ‘tak berapa mampu’ nak ke private to menikmati perkhidmatan at govt. hospital.

It should be like that lah, those who mampu (or kompeni tanggung like us), go to private so that not so many crowd at government hospital. Bukan soal berlagak atau tidak, or underestimate any party, in fact government hospital punya treatment is the best. But just see what happens today, if everyone goes to govt hospital, tambah ramai, tambah crowded, then bila service lembab…… Furthermore government hospital sekarang dah upgraded to more and more comfortable. So why don’t give the place to those who really need to be treated and need comfort too.

My dad has been working with government hospital for 28 years, and he has the same opinion.

Of course certain specialist at private hospital pun has a crowd of patients and you have to wait for hours just for consultation. But it’s different than pvt-govt hospital case. Best doctor wins la kan.

For some cases, private hosp tolak the case to govt itu normal lah kan. Like what happened to us. Even they were ‘afraid’ to take Fahry case. We see it as win-win situation lah.
