It’s July and I have another 3 months to spend with the kids before go back to work. WORK!!!
I still remember days when I finished my final year and started to look for jobs. It was so hard then to find a suitable job. Most of the company I went, refused to take me as their Civil Engineer because I was a girl. Most of them preferred men. And when I went to ‘lower level’ of employment, they also refused because I had a good qualification, they said I would find a better job.
So I spent 7 months doing nothing. Oh, it was something, I did gardening 
Being unemployed was the most critical time and put me at the lowest point in my life. Jobless and no money. Luckily I still had my parents around and it wouldn’t make me die starving.
So every Saturday I bought The Star to get its employment section. Went to several interviews
Luckily after I came back from umrah in June 2006, I got an offer letter from the company where I am picking my salary currently. After I reported my duty then I got several other offer letters. JKR, Jabatan .. apebenda tah lupa dah hehe. But because of the bonding I stick to the company la, until maybe my 55 (ke 56? lupa sudah) if I happen to make housing loan with the company 
And I started to face ups and downs in my career. I was left without any projects in 2006, then transferred to Sarawak in 2007, doing something not related to my previous job, and now waiting for the letter to continue my service in KL again.
So now I am thinking, when I go back to work, will it about JOB or CAREER? According to answers.com, JOB defined as :A regular activity performed in exchange for payment, especially as one’s trade, occupation, or profession. and CAREER as :A chosen pursuit; a profession or occupation. The general course or progression of one’s working life or one’s professional.

Job associated with ROUTINE and PAYMENT, while career is about PURSUE and PROGRESS.
Definitely. Have a job and make it better for a career. So we won’t work for money alone, but for satisfaction, personal development and ambition. So we invest more in integrity rather than selling ourselves cheap for extra money.

hmm,
saya pernah jumpa seorang lelaki yang pada saya, hebat..
(err, hebat dari segi kerjaya ye.. kang kena pelangkung dengan husband plak.. :P)
dia kata, pada umur yang masih muda (25 – 35), kita lebih kepada berkerja untuk mencari duit.. nak cari kerja yang boleh bagi duit yang banyak..
tapi, pada satu peringkat, kita lebih kepada mahu mencari kerja yang memberikan kepuasan… yang betul2 kena dengan jiwa kita..
dan, saya rasa, pada umur masih 20an ni, saya rasa, kerjaya saya memang jiwa saya.. cuma, saya bercita2 mahu memperhebatkan kerjaya saya lagi…

Agaknya bla dh senior dlm organisati0n, saving dh byk, gaji pun banyak jugak, keinginan dh berkurang, so jd rilex2 je.
Everyone should experience defeat at least once during their career. You learn a lot from it!
I myself am scared if I were to experience it. But Alhamdulillah whatever jobs I had and I have are all okay. Except for one, when the boss was damn tak adil…nama je alim, pakai purdah.

My definition:
A job is something yg kite terpaksa buat – utk dpt duit for keselesaan hidup. Mungkin kite suke, mungkin kite nyampah, mungkin rasa duk umah lagi best..tp terpaksa jugak buat demi sesuap nasi.
A career is something we love doing, becos we want to do it, tanpa rasa terpaksa. A career is a reason to wake up early in the morning and leave our children at home…knowing that at the end of the day, we would still have the best of both working & home worlds.
Obviously, I only have a job right now. Career? Still looking for it..

saya rasa saya dlm both stage..haah, maybe in stage of making my job a better career. i’m experiencing this only when i start working at this hospital, i learnt to work, to lead, to stabilize emotion and rules, etc. A lot! even always facing stressful scope and fussy users, i still want to continue here till i satisfy enough on my efforts…

i love my job.. i really want to an Accountant..
so i start my career in Audit firm.. then masuk kerja kilang, jd A/c exe.. handle mcm2, learn mcm2 technical abt acctg, auditing, tax & comp sec.. ni semua techinical part yg melayakkan daku utk jd Akauntan..
after 6 years, applied for MIA membership.. then dpt promotion.. then tukar kerja utk kali ke3, for better position & better job satisfaction..
later, dok rumah for 6 mths.. then later start on my own.. for 1.5 years… lepas dpt aliya, memulakan kerjaya sbg ibu sepenuh masa… (berehat dr jd workaholic..)
tp masih menaruh harapan utk meneruskan kerjaya sbg Akauntan yg ade firm sendiri, walaupun hanya kecik & ade staff tak sampai 5 org…
